‘Chicken out’ at MCPL Wausau during presentation on raising chickens
Now that the City of Wausau has changed its ordinances to allow residents to raise hens, the Marathon County Public Library will offer an introductory presentation on raising chickens on October 19 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Heather Schlesser, dairy agent for Marathon County UW-Extension, will share photos and other information necessary to raise chickens at home, such as housing and food requirements. We’ll also have time for attendees to ask questions.
